Canadian energy experts will visit Georgia Aug. 3-5 to share their expertise with more than 500 expected attendees at the fifth annual Southeast Bioenergy Conference in Tifton.
Ed Lohrenz, founder and president of Winnipeg, Canada-based Geo-Xergy Systems, and Dean Tiessen, founder of New Energy Farms in the province of Ontario, are among the few internationally based panelists slated to speak at the event.
Mr. Lohrenz will discuss the design and construction of geothermal systems. Mr. Tiessen will share his experience growing Miscanthus grass for use as a feedstock for making clean biofuels, according to a news release from the Canadian Consulate General in Atlanta.
After the conference, they will travel to Florida for meetings with universities and the state's agriculture department. There, they will be joined by David Bressler, an associate professor at the University of Alberta's Fermentation and Bio/Food Engineering Department, and Nils Semmler, founder of Renewable Energy Technologies Inc. and past president of the Canadian Biogas Association.
“Many Canadian companies are at the forefront of emerging technologies and unique solutions that can benefit people worldwide,” said Stephen Brereton, Canada's consul general in Atlanta. “We are pleased that some of our country's leading experts are sharing their expertise with our U.S. partners.”
